What are they? Some type of packet sniffing software? Don't see any major use for one unless its to crack a wifi password encrypted network. But that type of process requires a lot of resources, and can even take a while on a PC, so I don't see such an app being made. If it is, it won't be very useful for cracking passwords considering the low resources you have to work with on a mobile phone's hardware.

So why the question if they are not droid apps?

So are you telling me that running a program on a droid not found in the app market is illegal?

    Surely you jest.

Just because a program hacks or is capable of finding and using exploits does not designate illegal activity persay. The user of such programs or tools may find himself in a situation where he can break the law yes, however there are many great applications of use for aircrack-ng and prism stumbler. Network security analysts use these tools and other like them to find exploits in a company's network security with the intention of stopping others from using these exploits. Hacking is NOT illegal until certain lines are crossed. Sorry I felt I needed to clear that up.

And back to the question at hand. I have seen some people on AllDroid forum that have been working with aircrack-ng. However as of right now I do not believe they have it working. I believe and I could be wrong that the wireless adapter used in the Droid is capable of Packet Injection however the adapter is not (as of right now) capable of being run in Monitor Mode. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. I just remember reading a long thread with people that said that was one of the problems they were running into. I will try and find the link and will edit my post with it.

I tend to agree with you right here. I am going to close this thread and let me be clear about this. there is no room for cracking apps or passwords here! We do not support ANYTHING of questionable legality. I hope everyone understands this.
On that not this thread is :closed_2:
