That would be the "Text Contact" option..

The OP is not wanting to text that contact they are wanting to text another contact that contact's number.

I do not know another way other then the cut and paste option.

I'm not sure I fully understand your intention but this is what I do to send someone a text message with a phone number on it.

1. Open the contact that has the phone number you want to copy.
2. Select EDIT from the menu
3. Touch and hold the phone number you want to copy, select COPY ALL
4. Open a text message to send with the phone number, address as appropriate
5. Touch and hold the text box of the text message and select PASTE

Now the phone number has been copied and pasted from a contact to a text message. This method works for any other type of data as well.

My apologies if I misunderstood your inquiry.

Will help a lot cutting down the time you spend doing things. While using your web browser, if while looking at a page you head to the browser settings you can also copy text from a webpage. I believe it's shortcut is menu+e on the stock browser.

When you have selected the contact, click on Menu / Share. I can email it but not text it. I have Barcode Scanner installed, so I can also share it that way.
