Yeah one is free, the other you pay for and both do absolutely nothing for you.

Both are worthless and the alternatives are too. Antivirus is also worthless. Be wary of installing stuff that runs automatically in the background on startup. These programs use cpu/battery. Ironically, automated task killers are part of the problem they are intended to fix. Other things that eat cpu/battery: widgets, any app with a reminder function

paid version gives you a single touch widget which is well worth the fee (unless you are anti-task killer of course)

IMO all task killers are stupid and useless, read up on it. Android does a good job...

I used a task killer since I first got the Droid. My brother, who got a Droid before me, got it off the market and said it was really good to have. I used it for about 3 months, wasn't really sure what it was doing it only "killed" running apps 2-3x per day. Once 2.1 rolled out, I started getting the error "Problem loading widget" on each of my widgets on the home screens just about every other day. I finally took the anti-task killers proponents' advice and uninstalled. Its been over a month since I got rid of it, and my widgets work fine now. No more reboots to get them back

The reason your widgets werent working is because you were using the task killer wrong. You can't blame an app for your mistakes. You're supposed to exclude widgets from the task killer. Task killers are fine if you use them properly. The way mine is set up, I have all of the apps that are going to start up anyway on my ignore list. Email, google voice, alarm clock, etc. Those apps are going to start themselves after you kill them anyway, so you might as well ignore them. Once that is done, you use the task killer to kill apps that you open yourself, but want to close when youre done with them. Why leave all of your apps open when you can just close them after? Even if they are using a very small amount of cpu and battery, why leave them open? My battery is great and my phone runs fast.

Ok, I have a theory now:

No, one is worth something. You gotta pay for it.

Oh, my ignore list was huge. If everytime I hit the button to kill the tasks, and all my widgets died, I would have picked up on it. I'm not a simpleton.
