add poi's to google maps?

i did a search and didn't find anything on the subject

the other day i was roaming in a nearby town i'm not familiar with checking out parks and cool spots to photograph (one of my hobbies) and i stumbled across a park that was not showing up on maps or navigation. i tried to no avail to add it but couldnt find a way. any help would be appreciated

I don't know how to do it from the app, or if you can. But you can submit it and ask that it be added. Submit Your Content

You can't add it. The POI database is central -- not local to your device. You'd have to submit it as suggested above.

from what i can tell that page does not apply. i dont run the park and i dont have a website promoting it. i just want to add a public park that they missed

so far from a computer http://www.google.com/mapmaker is the best way ive found but nothing so far from the app, which is where it really needs to be. its hard for me to remember details hours or days later when i get to a computer
