i want to remove the launcher that came w/ my CM rom. i want to remove it and any traces of it, i dont want any "crumbs" left over.

    do i just do this:
    adb remount
    adb shell rm /system/app/$APPNAME
    adb shell rm /data/app/$APPNAME

I can't remember but I know their is more to it, to get rid of it properly.

Yes, this is exactly what you do, afterwards you will be able to go to settings --> applications and remove the remainder of the apps, ie /data/data/<app>

Does anyone know any good tutorials for editing xml files. I want to learn how to change colors, transparency, etc. Ex. changing the status bar color.
