Just curious, I am getting a lot of failed installs on a wide variety of programs in Sapphire. I am not sure why and was curious if I was alone in this, and if not, why is this happening. It is not happening any more than with any other version of Sapphire based off 2.2 that i have used, but with the official Froyo more prevalent now I thought this would be something that kind of fixed itself.

Which apps are failing install? I know a couple that are prone to fail, Mostly the apps that are included with the sapphire install. (Google Search, Voice Search, Super User, etc). That's why cvcps removed google and voice search, so they could be installed from the market

I flashed Cyanogen Rom 6.0.0 Stable Release to see if I could install these apps on another ROM. I had the same issues, all apps that I could not install before on Sapphire I could not get on Cyanogen.

Came back to Sapphire after the experiment though :D

    Ideas?

I just installed sapphire 1.1.1 and having similar issues. Can't install ted mobile, grocery iq, hd rare black, or street view. Doodle bowling installed ok for me though... Might go back to sapphire 1.0 and see if they'll install.

Tried to install angry birds, no go. Restored sapphire 1.0. Tried to install angry birds, still didn't work. I did have angry birds installed when it first came out, I was on sapphire 1.0, so maybe somethings up with the market place?

I am having troubles getting LauncherPro to update to v0.8.1. I have tried from the market, tried installing from apk on SDCard, and installing with ADB.
The dev says to use Home Switcher....oh wait Home Switcher says Froyo 2.2 isn't supported. Now what??

For me the apps are Bluetooth File Transfer, C:Geo, Kayak, Speedx 3D, ROM Manager, SpeedView, Pandora, Bluff My Call, Scanner Radio, Flikie Wallpapers HD... thats just a few. Its most of my apps. It a hassle to have to uninstall all these apps, reinstall, then reconfigure them to the way it was before....

wow you guys are getting the angry birds failing to install too? I can't get it to install on cyanogen and was about to come back to sapphire to see if that works but now this makes me wonder what is up.

    Have you tried 'Fix Permissions'?

I ran into something similar a while back on a diff rom. An awful lot of them cleared up once I ran 'fix permissions' (I think created by Peter Alfonso and also available in ROM Mgr).

It looks like somewhere, somehow, a lot of my apps had had their permissions messed up, and this script fixed 'em all up!

Angry Birds, Google Street View, Google Voice Search, Ubuntu One Music, Ubuntu One Contacts, and a ton others.

Between this, not being able to search in the browser bar, and my battery getting down to 30 then hovering there till dropping down to 5% then off, I'm about ready to switch to a more stable ROM.

Wiped before Install, cleared caches, fixed permissions, nothing fixes these problems.

Installed Angry Birds yesterday no problem. Quite entertaining actually :)

No problem installing Google street view or Google Voice Search although you may need to delete the one already on the phone first and reboot.
