A little help after 2.2

Downloaded the 2.2 update and I can't get Fancy Widget to the home screen because the "add" button is grayed out. Also I have Google Search icon on the home screen, but how do you add the Google search bar to the home screen? It's probable one simple step but I can't figure it our.
