Out of curiosity, why not? What does it do when you freeze it? Anyway to get rid of the icons?

If you delete them, you may delete the wrong ones. Your phone needs certain apps to function properly and there's a chance you may not be able to get them back. The bloatware is also needed for OTA updates. When they are frozen, they will disappear from your app drawer and won't run. When an update comes out, you simply thaw the app out. Look around, there are a lot of users trying to find the bloat .apks for some of the apps they've deleted (uninstalled) and aren't having much luck. Freezing is safer.

Alternatively, if you don't want to freeze them, you can also just rename them (using something like root explorer to do so) to current name.bak (which is what I do).

If they're still there, just drag them down to the trash can.
