sorry fur! im running the 1.25 ulv now... runs just as cool and 1700 on my third quadrent (1530 on the first)

interestingly enough in another thread chevy said he only uses the lv not his ulv...do you know what gives?

also did you get the ss? it is simply stunning!

Don't know if this is the case for Chevy's phone or not, but if your phone doesn't agree with the ulow voltage it will work harder and therefore get hotter and drain your battery faster then even the medium voltage would. Just a trial and error thing.

damn! ulv 1.2, my go-to kernel is overheating, as did ulv 1.25. the 1.25 did when i was using gps, and the 1.2 did on the quadrant. trying lv now

update...lv while doing a quadrant test just rebooted out of no where. back to ulv 1.2.

are the old kernels still out there?

Yeah, they're still in the original place. It wouldn't be Chevy quality if he just tossed it out there without testing! :)

In the past I used 1.0ghz low voltage, but downloading the new kernals at the same speed and voltage boot loops. Is this normal?

I'm wondering if I should just stick with the old kernals?

    Edit

Just tried 1.0ghz on med, boot looped. :(

Are these your build chevy? I love your kernels, but I can never run ulv, and maybe a different one would work

CPU/GPU throttling isn't it , and has been around PCs for a long time , nothing new , well maybe to some users .
I have been using CPU/GPU throttling for some 10 to 12 years now and it was around back in the early days , push a button and have a burst of CPU speed , called a "Turbo" button back in the day . :motdroidvert:
Oh and thanks for the Kernels .

WOOO i got a promotion to senior droid!

that aside, Chevy, i am having problems with the new kernels overheating where the old ones didnt. like in gps use. i even scaled back, tried higher voltages but everything seems to get hot.

the old one i used was ulv 1.2, which im about to try again
since the new ones have dropped i tried 1.25 ulv and lv. both ran hot but lv hotter.
then 1.2 lv and ulv, both hot, but lv hotter
and i was working the 1.1 today when my failsafe kicked in using gps.

the failsafe is set to 55 degrees C

oh and im using ss 4.8 which is awesome!

not the proper forum but maybe get a loyal ss user to design some kickass wallpapers?

edit!! battery also died a bunch quicker
edit 2!! after 12 min on a set cpu stress test the failsafe kicked in using the old 1.2ulv kernel.
edit 3!! stress test has been going 20 plus min usling the ulv 1.0 with no failsafe warning.
edit 4!! stress test one hr plus no overheat, quadrent tests with no overheat before i got tired of pushing the buttons (1232, 1421, 1433, 1461, 1419, 1394, 1406)

gps results later today when i get out of the hosue
seems 1.0 is my new 1.2? i miss the 1500-1600's! lol

is it possible the rom just runs a little warmer and thats why im having to clock back .2ghz?

Yep I all the new kernels boot looped and random reboots all day. I'm getting the random reboots with 4.8 and the 1.1 ulv or lv 1.1 first set of froyo kernels.

My old set-up 4.7 with the ULV 1.1 never once had any issues with reboots or launcher issues. I'm to the point of going back to 4.7 because I need a phone that will be there to work not reboot in the middle of a call / email.

Having the same issue with those ones.. Not sure what is going on. Maybe a set cpu issue?
