Really should use the search function of the forum for stuff like this thats been talked about over and over.

In settings its supposed to still show v8.

Generally its best to search for the exact terms you're looking for. To make it easier on yourself I would open up the thread in question and search the thread rather than searching the entire forum. Keep it simple, like for your question I would search the 8.1.1 thread for "shows v8 not 8.1.1" and found the answer 2 posts down.

Searching is a science and I think all Android owners (Unless yer on AT&T with YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol) should perfect that science.
