That option got removed from all devices when we went from Éclair to Froyo, however I think I read a thread a long time ago over at the Cyanogenmod forums about how to do it, though it's in the Motorola Droid section, so I don't know if it would work. And not only that, it's not an easy thing to do, only for advanced users. But I'm sure if you look hard enough over there you might find it.

    good luck

Thanks Ted I found that it is more complicated than I thought. You have to install Java script and than Adk build to even think about it.
truly be / rooted. What a joke.
Pondering if its worth all the time and energy. They could make it so cool if you can add your own. Wav. Like what's the big deal you can keep the bootmations.
My biggest problem is that from reading all the posts I am extremely lucky that everything is working fine.
So I have to way it out?

Yeah, I said it's pretty complicated. As far as it ever getting implemented easily for the masses, I doubt it since most people don't miss it. I know I don't since unless it was set on the stock "Droid" sound it would only ring.

On another note, if and when you get more comfortable with modding your phone, having ADB installed and working will become more and more useful to you.

    good luck

I did this once with cm6.0 or such. The thread is over on cyanogenmod. It was pretty easy and only required modification of the build.prop file from what I remember. Not a hard mod. I gave up on it after a while however.

abutting if you find that link I will check it out.
