I just upgraded from 4.8 to 4.95, and was previously using just launcherpro..

After the upgrade, I now have LP, Launcher2 (which i removed with the tools) and ADW. ADW isn't listed in tools, nor in installed programs - AND, its hogging resources like crazy.

Where did it come from, and how do I get rid of it?

Try Titanium Backup, it should show up in there and from there you can either freeze it or uninstall it.

You should be able to uninstall it using Chevy's tools as well.

It's interesting though. I get much better performance from ADW than LP. LP gave me so many redraws it was ridiculous. I tried all the remedies and none of them worked. Oh well.

the new adw launcher ex is AMAZING. it is 4 bucks, so unless you really love your LP widgets, i am sure everyone on LP will love this new version of ADW instead.

Coming from a previous die hard LP fan.

I saw EX on the market, but its pretty difficult to gauge the differences between launchers IMO. Could you elaborate on what makes it so much better than LP? Thanks in advance!

the biggest things are speed, its finally really fast, LP fast, it has screen transitions, tons of customizable features, no restarting the launcher to add screens or rearrange, coded VERY well. Fede (LP dev) even said his code is very hacky b/c its build upon the 2.0 launcher code. hes doing a re write so hopefully it will be better.

the one thing that ADW Ex doesnt have that fede just included is loop scrolling of the home screens (which i dont use anyway). everything else is just done better IMO>

and one of the main features i wanted (something that has put my redraws to 0) is the launcher staying in portrait even when the keyboard is open. that feature keeps the launcher in only portrait, but no redraws which i got alot when switching orientation in LP and change apps and stuff.

This is why I left Laucher Pro, the redrawing is totally unacceptable for an application that I paid for. It's no longer a problem with ADW.

Yes, I regret ever purchasing the pro version.
