What's the odds of this happening? They said the source has been released!

Well, they said it could run on any phone that was running Gingerbread, so it would probably be and stay buggy if it ever came to the Droid, if you look at where gingerbread has come, its still got a few bugs and it was expected and many were excited to port it to the droid

Wont happen. Not enough RAM. It will run on any phone that got official GB. D1 didn't.

I say there's no way we won't get it, maybe not a good working rom but the way GB went the D1 was one of the first phones to get it working and while it was more popular then I still think it'll happen.

Sdk means source developer kit which is for devs to get apps working before the os is released, you can pull apps from it but that's about it

System dump and SDK is out. I'm 60% sure we'll see a Frankenstein ICS rom out for the droid.
Had HoneyComb had a phone app, we would all be running 3.0 right now instead of 2.3.7

I don't think it will take as long build ics for droid, because the devs have experience now from porting gb to the droid, but I could be wrong, I hope not though would like to see this monster soon

Here's what I got from J.B. Queru. Its a lot more than gingerbread was and more intensive builds. All we can do is pray for now and hope for the best.
-6GB of download. -25GB disk space to do a single build. -80GB disk space to build all AOSP configs at the same time. -16GB RAM recommended, more preferred, anything less will measurably benefit from using an SSD. -5+ hours of CPU time for a single build, 25+ minutes of wall time, as measured on my workstation (dual-E5620 i.e. 2x quad-core 2.4GHz HT, with 24GB of RAM, no SSD),

P.S. I don't think Google, Motorola, and VZW were too concerned about the Droid. The Droid users still represent a significant portion of android owners and they want us to upgrade and spend money again. Were a group that's ripe for picking.
