New to the .215 and rooting (running ICS .211 non-rooted) so just have a quick reiteration of what to do: copy the .215 leak according to the instructions posted at the beginning of this thread, then copy the root file to my PC and follow those instructions. BTW, at the beginning of this thread, do I install all of the different files that are listed? It only states what 1.8 is for.

I am not trying not to be difficult, just want to make sure I don't brick my Maxx. We pay way too much for these phones, so I hope I can make it last for a long time.

I got ICS maybe a week ago and have had no issues as others have had. I do notice a slight lag but its not anything that I can't live with.

Love this forum and enjoy all the contributions and jokes.

To install the .215 leak, on your stock unrooted razr, place the 215 zip file (do not extract it) on the root of your external sdcard . Just follow MattyP's instructions from there.

To root after installing 215, you can follow these steps below . They are the steps I followed when I rooted after following MattyP's instructions. I just put his instructions in a one-stop post. Steps 2 & 3 can be done at anytime. Steps 1, 4 & 5 are specific to rooting. See Post #89:

So you are just saying this was pushed ota to your phone or you installed manually? Just trying to figure out what you were saying here. Being that you dont have to be rooted to install the leak.

This only shows that you installed the 215 leak, not that you're rooted.

I think we lost the point here. I installed .215 on my own, it used to say .211 when it was actually .215 in the system info. Now it displays correctly. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen.

Mine showed. 215 from the start soon as it was flashed.

Does anybody notice a significant increase in battery life? I'm on .211 and seem to be only getting about 15hours. Friend has .215 but only gets 17 hours of life?

Battery life is user specific in that you friend may only get 17 hours whereas you may get considerably more or less. .215 has been an excellent upgrade for me and most everyone else afaik.
