    I'm running BB v.09
    Adamz Kernel 2.6

    - System update say I'm currently up to date. Before I use to get the prompt to install the official 2.1 update until I followed this thread http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/35502-blocking-ota-2-1-update-kills-battery-life.html

    - Battery Usage says Android System is using 10-17% of the battery. All other use are in single digits.

    - Wifi, BT, GPS, SYNC is all off

I just don't understand whats boggin me down, I'm thinking of wiping and reinstall BB but before I do that, anyone have any other suggestions?

I totally agree battery is horrid!! I can say tho I have had the same battery consumption as the OP. I also was running droidmod for a good month with these same battery results.. and Tuesday night I switched to udv10 and for instance today I have been unplugged since 7:30 this morning so I am coming up on sixteen hours with moderate use all day.. huge battery increase!! I have also deleted beautiful Widgets, battery left, weatherbug, etc.... any apps that may be possibly killing battery just to see what would happen..

The battery life is good for me. I'm also not rooted so that might be it. I am currently running a lot of things including Helix Launcher.

I am still stock and I am trying to figure out the whole big deal about the rooting. I really want to use the hot spot set up and understand that the only way to do this is thru rooting. Can someone in a nutshell tell me the biggest advantages of being rooted?

Rooting has its pros and cons. It brings a lot of benefits but the Huge downfall is you lose your warranty on your phone. If you root neither Verizon or Asurion will replace your phone if something happens to it.

Rooting allows you to run custom roms which look awesome as well as overclock your processor and wifi tether. There are a lot more things rooted users can do but these are the most popular things.

Easy way around insurance is tell them it was lost completely if it messes up then you wont have a way for them to find out it was rooted

I've been rooted on two separate occsions oc'd to 800 and the first time battery life was horrible (why i un-rooted) the second time I didn't notice a problem. One thing to try though, there have been times where my battery will say it's at like 20% (the battery widget and About Phone say the same thing) and i'll just turn off and turn the phone back on and voila, it's back at like 80% and it lasts....so I'm not sure what this means but if it'll give you some more battery life it's worth a try...see if it's not just me.

With droidmod and setcpu my battery life was the greatest. All day and running Pandora. Got home with 40% left. Ud9.8 with Adamz kernal was almost as good as Droidmod.

    Just an option. :)

I'm currently running us v10 and dying pretty quick. Wish I could try with adamz

I've noticed that too.... it showed 30% which seemed real low after such a quick amount of time. Rebooted and it showed 60%.

I'm now running bb 0.9 with chevyno1 LV 1.0 if it matters.
