I heard that gingerbread 2.3.3 had 5% increments, is that real or a hoax?

I have seen the new png's in the framework - but my guess is it is a hardware/sensor limitation on the OG droid that will prevent that from working ...

    When is 5.2 dropping chevy?

I tried liquid and im stuck between liquid and SS.

I love both. liquid 4.2 just dropped but i need to wipe just to install an update? I'm goign to need to compare and see what i like. I'll wait till 5.2 drops to make the call.

Wow, but who am I to argue with a unsatisfied consumer. Since you like the 5% increments, maybe you might like the 1% increments you get with the app 'battery circle'.

OK - I've been told in other posts that 'other GB ROM's have 5% increments'. Can someone confirm which one? bigeric says that LGB is supposed to, but he's not seeing it.

I see the code and png's in framework that should ALLOW for it - yet it's still not happening. Which brings me back to my comment about the hardware allowing - so who's got it??

Yep I saw that also - yet I've seen NOTHING in google's commits to indicate this would work on the D1 (we need to remember GB was NEVER meant to run on this). So not surprising that the GB code itself has it ...

Still working on that one - all code appears as if it should work - but no dice. So right now I'm testing UD to see in fact that SetCPU (NOT the statusbar) shows a 5% increment.

Whats the reasoning? i mean, if it just shows in statusbar, why is this bad? Jut because it might not accurate?

Since statusbar is open code (ie I can mod it, UD can, anyone can) - then technically speaking - the magic of '5% increment' could be falsified - but on an app like SetCPU, since it is external to the OS guts, would most certainly rely on hardware sensors - that being the case - if the statusbar shows 75%, SetCPU would HAVE to also show 75%. Which is why I'd like a screenshot of something outside the OS showing a 5% increment ... make sense? Just to be clear, I am NOT making this accusation - but so far I fail to see how this can work via framework for the D1.

And something ELSE I just noticed, while browsing through UD's framework code - the ROM (which I have installed) shows as 2.3.3, which we all know as Gingerbread (and it has visual cues to show the same).

HOWEVER - and I'm TRYING to not jump to conclusions - I'm diffing code between Froyo/GB/UD - and I'm seeing that some of UD's code is identical to FROYO code, NOT GB.

Just an update - I diff'ed UD's framework code against both Froyo and GB - and the counts are in:

Against GB - 1211 files different
Against Froyo - only 124 files different.

I find this very disconcerting - UD is claiming the latest build is Gingerbread, simply by virtue of the version # (2.3.3) - but a code diff shows COMPLETELY OTHERWISE. It is a Froyo ROM with a few bits of Gingerbread mixed within ( like only 10%!).

The average user would NEVER know the difference.

SS is 100% GB. UD is 10% GB.

I'll even go so far to say as I'm the only dev who at this point knows this.
