So I finally bit the nail and installed the 2.1 OTA. Honestly, I love it. The only thing I want back is my WiFi Tether. That was really the only thing keeping me back this entire time, then I found out 2.1 could be rooted, so I went ahead with it. Now I've run into the "kernel road block" so to speak.

What do I need to do to fix the WiFi? I've been searching and looking and trying all kinds of different things and nothing has worked so far. It's driving me up a damn wall, lol.

Also, are there any ROMs out for 2.1 or are we just stuck with the plain 2.1 rooted until someone releases an updated rom.

btw, I was using DroidMod. Worked great for the first day, then became the most glitchy, buggy, force closing pain in my ass. :icon_evil:

I think barnacle from the market works with the stock kernel for wifi tethering. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes it does. In other words, if you have manually Rooted the Stock Rom it will work without changing the kernel.

BUT, most OC kernels are very fast and stable, so why not :)

Just install an oc kernel and run at stock speed if you want. I found P3Droid Kernels to be the best for me so far P3Droid Kernels but others may have different thoughts. The kernel works well with WiFi and Wired Tether.
