Engadget just posted this:
Android 2.1 ported to Droid, no one feigns surprise -- Engadget
I think it's just the boot animation from someone over on the hacks side.
Since the 2.1 software IS out there, does anyone have a list of the features/updates?
Hopefully we'll see a fully functional version soon.
Android 2.1 (Flan) ported to the Verizon Droid | Sholes
no thats the actual system.img
there are a few problems with it and they are working on getting a install guide and everything out
incredibly long boot......
edit: Aezius I merged the thread
wish i could try it but id like official word of it working cause the droid is my only phone for now
We'll more than likely see it...
When do you think an official update would be released? I hope it would be Q1 or Q2 of next year.
Guys...its not even released yet.
Why would it be a surprise anyway? The OS has been out for a little over a month..of course they aren't going to mass-release OS updates every other week or the average customers would raise red flags as to why they are being forced to update so frequently.
I am not a fan of saying "the Droid is a good phone because it has ______ sales. (fill in a number)"..because sheep like tendencies don't say anything, all it is brainwashing..... but the Droid is Android's top platform on the top network right now (sale wise). If a new Android OS is released, you can bet the phone will get it.
Developer's want to profit...not program for a platform that has a slice of the sales and runs with bugs and glitches on every other version.
anyone able to extract the OEM wallpapers from 2.1? I'd love to get my hands on them!
