I had my Droid for about a month now and love it. My girlfriend loves it too so I got her one. After I did a hard reset of phone and went to update to 2.1 via OTA I noticed the file size was about 69 MB. I had the signed-voles-ESE81-from-ESD56.fa406da6.zip file on my computer and saw that it was about 16 MB, extracted it was about 22 MB. Is there a difference between the OTA file and the manual update file? I would rather flash to 2.01 and then upgrade from memory card and then root but was wondering why the OTA download was so much larger...

    Thanks!

Dont take me word for word on this but i believe that the ota update also included a kernel update and ofc that was removed from the manual method.
