I've had a boot looping issue happen on random occasions. Sometimes it randomly reboots, and sometimes it happens when I put the phone into the car dock. The phone will go into a seemingly endless boot loop.

However, I've figured out that while the boot animation is going (original) the desktop is still active, you can slide the unlock (you'll feel the vibration) and when that happens, I start mashing all the soft keys, I don't know why this works but it stops the phone from rebooting again and I can resume normal operations until it craps out again.

    FYI: Version 1.0

Sounds to me like you have either a kernel issue or a theme issue. Which kernel and which theme are you using?

You'd definitely wanna remedy this. Yeah, it's a quick fix now, but certainly after awhile it could get annoying and perhaps even physically damaging to the phone.
Unless you're okay with that. :icon_eek:

I have been having this issue also...I'm running 1.0 and SG and also ADW launcher. I got to thinking though, I wonder if an error on the sd card is causing this b/c mine will boot up until it says "preparing sd card" and then it restarts. As I recall I had a boot loop problem with my blackberry many moons ago and a bad file on the sd card was the culprit....just a thought.

I had that problem too, and thanks to a post I came across on these forums tracked it back to having the notification sound for the SD card on the SD card itself. I changed the notification sound to one in the phone's internal memory and the problem disappeared.

Ah ha! That could be my problem. This issue has been driving me nuts because it's happened with different roms and different themes. :icon_ banana:

It didn't even occur to me to look into this problem as I thought it was related to my other SD card problem in which I can't mount the SD card.

    Same Boot Loop

I am having the same boot loop when the phone is plugged into my computer. SD card notification is turned off, I think this might be the USB notification. I can't find out how to turn that notification off. It's not in the USB Debugging options. The notification sound is the default notification for the phone which is on the SD card. Turning off USB debugging did not help. When I change the notification to one on the internal memory problem solved.

How do I turn off the USB Connected notification sound (I've done it before, but can't figure it out on BB 1.0, and what folder do I need to put ringtones in in the internal memory?

I'm so glad I found this post, I was getting boot loops and sd card errors (not being found on start up) seems it was all linked to a corrupt .wav file that I was using as an sd card notification.
