My mistake, I should have specified! You can do "Option 2" from that tutorial, no RSDLight :)
Edit: I had Option 3 instead of Option 2.

Make sure you have done the wifi fix for Froyo, then you will have to download a wifi tether app. Go here for more information.
If you are having trouble with RSDLight, there are other methods to installing Froyo (whether your rooted or non-rooted, Android 2.1 or 2.0.1).
