You can fix the call screen by dropping in a different Phone.apk. I put in the one from UD 7, and got the stock call screen with smoked buttons....
If you use LauncherPro, you can set the icon for the app drawer to anything you want, including a D2-style arrow. No root or ROM necessary.
800x600 display is weak by tablet standards.
