    I had to uninstall then reinstall from market...it asked if my phone was rooted, then after reinstalling it said installing binary files. works...

    Universal androot doesn't work with 2.2.1, You'll have to try using superoneclickroot or flash with RSDLITE. Doing a search on both of those...
