So if you're like most people you probably use your phone mostly with one hand. Also like most your thumb is probably getting the most action. However with screens getting larger, and batteries getting larger the thumb may be feeling a bit inadequate. No need for a complex.

Of course you could always break out the other hand and give your thumb a break, but why? Then who is going to hold the steering wheel? Joking of course, NOBODY should be texting and driving. But all kidding aside, if you're lazy like me, if the phone you're carrying is much larger than an iPhone 4, and if you just don't want to be a two-hand communicator, I have just the app for you.

Meet Lazy Swipe.

Lazy Swipe

My son actually turned me on to this app, and I'm duly impressed. The first thing that impressed me is that everything can be done from this app with one finger...or more accurately one thumb (yay, he's feeling a bit more confident and empowered already).

The entire app focuses around the starting point at the bottom left or right corner of the phone's screen and covering an area that fans out from there in a pie shape "wheel" to an arc distance that's about the length of a thumb. This means that you can operate the phone to do most anything you could possibly need to do with just your one thumb and never have to reach into the upper two-thirds of the screen.

It's extremely handy with features like a flashlight, and controls for the radios at your fingertip, as well as shortcuts to your choice of a plethora of apps and utilities. After using it for a while, I found something else perhaps even more impressive about it. It snappy and never lags, even when sometimes apps may lag.

To open, just swipe up and towards the center of the phone from either bottom corner and you have instant access to a powerful array of apps, tools, system settings and more. In fact if you're a minimalist type you can eliminate all icons from your home screen allowing your gone screen to be just a photo background, and just use Lazy Swipe do all your launcher functions.

Head on over to the Google Play Store and check it out. The download is free, also there is no bugging to buy (though there is a nag screen for rating every so often), and it just works amazingly well.

Well I'm pleased that you will find value in it. Is actually quite a well rounded application. The developer has done what I consider to be a great job of capitalizing on the one thumb operation and gives tremendous customizations. The themes included are powerful and attractive. The bubbles theme has some pretty cool animations as you scroll the wheel through the three quadrants. I would like to see a forth quadrant and have some custom scripts added in that quadrant to do processes or multiple functions with one tap.

All in all its free and that in itself is pretty cool, but if there is an updated paid version I will be purchasing it.

Do the apps in the favorites quadrant change based on usage or do you have to customize those to your liking? I haven't really read up on this app so I'm sure the description may state that.

Edit: It appears they do. Excellent.

on the move..
