UD Gingerbread ROM thread

1. i downloaded the UD gingerbread .zip from twitter on my phone. Wiped to factory settings and Then flashed it. then i rebooted into recovery and flashed the Google apps through a "re-baked" .zip (NO WIPE)
2. All of the Google apps work just fine except the Camera and the Browser. (i will post smaller bugs when i have time)

the Camera app cannot detect the camera hardware, something must be wrong with the permissions.

the browser app loads a page and then crashes immediately. Dolphin browser works fine, so does any other internet requiring app. i have heard reports of the Browser app working on WiFi. (didn't work for me though)

3. (WILL POST LATER, Shootme doesn't work)

4. Google has reworked the copy and paste UI to look more like the iphone. you can highlight words and drag to highlight more.

5. ive installed ADW and a Buuf theme over it. Ive also put a slayer 1200 1.6 kernel on it. working like a charm so far

I'm not currently running the Gingerbread rom but I did for a bit and I can tell you that the ddms.bat in the android sdk will pull screenshots if anyone wants to post some.

I downloaded the gingerbread rom
I used clockwork to reset to factory and installed the gingerbread nanodroid backup then i restored the data from my latest ultimate droid backup then i flashed chevy 1.2 med v kernal. At first it froze at the animated eye part of the boot i kept tapping the screen just below the eye and after a few vibrations it booted.
1. The browser can be fixed by changing the homepage. It works perfectly.
2. Thr pro cammera 5x works since the stock app just gives you a blank sceen i just replaced it.
3. All apps that were restored work the only apo that did not transfer was launcher pro i had to manually install with astro
The only thing im missing is ultimate droids options / settings
But damn this rom is fast....

I updated the market and the gmail app everything is running smoothly only 2apps that wont work villingo
And the launcherpro facebook app the standard facebook app works though.

i changed the homepage and it worked! thanks for the tip. i could not get the camera to work with any third party apps though, but its a start.

I flashed the UD gigngerbread zip just to play around with it (no wipe). Most apps worked. I didn't really check Gapps but I know Maps was working (on wifi). One of the apps that didn't work was quadrant and I was curious to see what kind of score it was going to put up.

It felt just as fast running on stock GB kernel @600MHz as my UD 2.5 w/slayher 1.6 kernel @800MHz. It felt smoother almost.
