    Unrooted custom ROM

So I've ordered a Thunderbolt and I'm waiting to get it. I'm interested in a custom ROM to remove bloatware and improve battery life. But here's the twist: I run GoodForEnterprise to get my work email and it deregisters me if it's running on a rooted device. So (a) is there some way to unroot any/all of the custom ROMs out there, and (b) if so, how and what ROM would be best for this project?

Can't you just use email forwarding to go through a different mail account?

    Not really an option --

    (1) I need to keep the mail synchronized with my desktop account
    (2) I'd be worried about bounce-backs if all of my e-mails had a different source than the return address
    (3) Even if I think the sysadmin's security policy is a bit absurd in not allowing me to use a rooted phone, I think it would be a bad idea to route all of my work e-mail through an external e-mail account

Is this a work device? If so you might want to be sure what you want to do isn't cause for termination. Anyone at my work that violates any IT policy is terminated plain and simple.

And if it's not a work device, Do what you want and have work issue you a phone for work.

You could root and install a custom rom and then unroot. I don't see why that would not work.
