Data plan disconnected

using Android 2.1 on motorola droid

A few days ago I noticed that I no longer had any data connection. I still had phone capabilities, so I thought If I waited a few days it would fix itself.

It didn't.


Settings->About Phone->Status reports
Mobile network state disconnected

*#*#INFO#*#* reports

GSM service: In service (thats odd)
GSPRS service: Disconnected
Network type: CDMA - EvDo rev. A
...
GSM Disconnects:
========DATA=======
State: inactive
disconnected with last try
at 3:36pm
fail because Unknown
Data Error

I have tried:

• Turning on/off Airplane mode
• pulling the battery
• factory reset
• and *228

Any help would be much appreciated.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you rooted?? If so flash a different rom, if not save yourself the trouble and go to verizon where they will swap out the phone.

Once I root it, will they no longer accept it at the Verizon Store?

I took the Droid in and told them what I had already tried. They said that they had never seen it before and ordered me a replacement. It will be here in two days.
