Gmail Connection Issue

So I woke up this morning and all of a sudden I can't retrieve my Gmail. I have the widget from the market that tells you how many new messages you have, and that still works. It will pop up with a 1 or 2 next to the icon, but I don't get the normal notification bar popups and when I open gmail it won't load any messages except for the first 3 or 4 that were already loaded and tells me there is a connectivity issue. Has anyone experienced this yet? Any advice? I am running the Smoked Glass custom ROM OCed at 1.1GHz.

Is your Sync turned on for the account?

Go to settings, applications, manage applications, hit the menu, choose filter, choose all, scroll down to the gmail app, choose clear cache.

there is no cache to clear :/ The button is grayed out.
