recieving gif files and sending video

I just got my Droid a week ago,and when trying to open gif files, they open like regular jpeg files, no movement, how to have them open correctly ???
also, I recorded a video and when I tried to send to a co-worker, it wouldn't send, my old enV (1) had no problem sending video, why would the Droid ???

tried handsent

I tried using handsent and same message for sending video, "message size limit reached, sorry you cannot add this video to your message" and video is only 15 secs long.

Did you change your recording settings? Open your video camera and check the settings, there is a high setting for saving to card, and a low setting for mms. Even at 15 seconds, if it's on high it's too large to go out over mms.
