Anyway to remove a google account without an FR?
Trying to get rid of a google account on a Droid Pro (2.3). The Google account was a secondary account, and has been deleted.
There has to be someway to get rid of this without the hassle of factory resting. After all the account doesn't even exist anymore.

This seems to simple, but ...
Can you go to My accounts and locate the gmail referenced there and press "Remove Account" ?

You have to have at least one Google account active, otherwise you have to factory reset. See if you can find a way to make that account the active account, otherwise its just an email account.
Try logging out of Talk and then select the account you want active.

Won't do it. Says it wants a factory reset.

From my understanding the account we're trying to get rid of was just another account, and not the main one (the one originally put on the phone). It is a google apps account which may be the reason for the issues.
But like I said the account in question has been deleted, and does not exist anymore.

If there are Market apps attached to it, then maybe that could be the reason... not sure what else might be able to be done...

It must have happened back when the market had that issue and used secondary google accounts as main.

hmm, that's really strange. You can always root, back up the data that you want, factory reset, reroot, restore those apps/data then unroot. a bit of a pain, but it should work.
Let me recap here though so I am understanding (having a brain fart...)
There are TWO accounts listed on your phone. One you use and the other has since been deactivated (through the control panel on the desktop browser I am assuming).
It WON'T let you delete the account that is no longer active correct?
If so, did you try logging out of Talk and then logging in with the account you want as the main account?

I work for a small organization, and they use Google Apps. Someone left (the Pro) so I deleted their account. They contacted me, because they can't get rid of the account without FRing it.
They have two google accounts on the device. Their personal and the organizations. Personals was first before the organizations. I tried doing the Gtalk thing, but it logs into their personal account.
I thought about doing a temp root job, but I don't want this to be the solution to this. Cause as time goes on, and if someone else leaves I don't want to have to root their phone just to get rid of a account that no longer exisits.
