Pressing space crashes keyboard???

Hey all,

I am having the most annoying issue and have found no fixes in any forum I have trolled through. Every-time I press the space bar on my virtual keyboard (in any app at all) the virtual keyboard on my Droid 2 crashes and disappears. I have to click the text box again to bring it back up, type my next word, then hitting space make the keyboard go away once again. One can imagine how loooooong it take to type a message of any kind this way. I have had this problem before and ended up doing a factory reset on my phone so obviously something must have caused this to happen last time that I have not been able to identify. This happened about 2 months ago and I haven't installed/updated any apps in days, so I doubt that's my problem. Any thoughts before I do another factory restore? I'd like this madness to stop without doing the factory reset....
