ICS and iCloud calendar sync only syncing one way from cal to phone! phone to cal ng

Hi all i have the new GN and i am trying to sync my ical(mac) with my calendars on the phone. when i enter an appointment on the calendar it will show up no problem but when enter a calendar appointment on my phone to the ical calendar it won't show up and it deletes it off the phone. This is only a problem with calendars this i have synced with iCloud also. the gmail cal works fine. but because my workers and i all use iPads in the office and some use macs we share calendars for buiness meetings. if u need more clarification i can but i can't seem to understand why its a one way sync. please help!!
