some contacts not showing for new text

everything is still stock. when I go to the "to" line for a new text message and try to input a name, about half of my contacts don't show up. e.g. I'll type "je" and drop down will show "jess" but not "jennifer." even when i try to input jennifer directly, the phone acts as though she's not in my contacts. this happens with the same contacts all the time.

Are the contact number marked as mobile?

Make sure that all of your contacts are categorized under the correct type of phone (mobile, home, etc.).

Also, I believe that is just a way to make sure that you are picking the contact that you are supposed to be picking. Sort of like "predicting" what contact you are trying to message.

good call. that worked for all my contacts except one. i wouldn't care but it's my bro so i kinda need it to work. i have him on direct text but i'll sometimes message multiple people. his number is marked mobile now but his name still won't show on the drop down.

Try deleting the contact and then putting it back on the phone with the correct information.
