    With new ROM I am getting double contacts.i just sync with google account different restore with backup

    Same here. I had to go through and merge or de dupe all of them. I think the issue arises from using the miui restore function.

    same thing happened to me, i went into gmail on the PC and merged all the duplicate contacts

    Double contacts from Miui Backup

    I can concur with the sentiment here. I have been using MIUI since about October of November, and back in January, I noticed that I noticed that I had 4 copies of each of my contacts. These copies existed in both my phone and in GMail. I had to manually delete the extras from my PC since it was easiest.

    I noticed that each time I restored contacts through MIUI Backup, the number of contacts copies incremented.

    I think that the Contacts backup is only beneficial for contacts that are phone-only. I wouldn't recommend using the Contacts Backup part of MIUI Backup if you only have GMail contacts.
