So far, my first rom was GummyNex which ran pretty good. Then I tried Liquid 1.25 it also ran smooth. As of now I'm at AOKP build 29 which is very feature rich and stable. Everyone is eagerly waiting for build 30 to be dropped which should be a superb release. Once you get your gnex I would reccomend to try AOKP first and any of those 3 I mentioned. All run well and I think Gummy is more for battery life but it depends on kernels and undervolting values.

I've heard a lot of stuff regarding AOKP on android blogs. It's definitely one I want to check out first to see what all the hubbub is about.

I didnt really like the looks of AXIOM Crossbread. I love the stock feel of ICS.
The only troubles im encountering with my new Gnex is learning about kernels. And what is best for battery life and to understand a lot more things about it. It's pretty different to the kernels we had for the OG where it was a simple flash, choice of voltage and just OC to your likings.

Yeah, thats what I also thought. I also my gnex doesnt even run good at 1.65GHz. I love Franco's kernels at 1344MHz max and 380MHz min, and hotplugx governor.

surprisingly i havent tried going that high yet lol, so far i've pretty much been using franco kernels, they seem faster for the cpu speed...i still have to look up all the governors to see what they do

I've decided to switch to GLaDOS kernel and its running very smooth. With his kernel, the highest freq I can go is 1400MHz and its already pre undervolted and using "wheatley" governor which I am about to learn what it does. All these new governors...So unfamiliar to me!

i found something that explains most of the popular newer governors and even mentions the kernel you're using...it actually sounds like you might wanna try out the performance governor
Android CPU governors and you! (SetCPU, System Tuner, TegraK) - Icrontic
