loaded 10_RC3_V2 I did run into one minor issue:

Now upon boot rather than it finishing with the typical locked screen it instead is going to blank black screen. You then have to hit the power button twice to bring up the normal lock screen. Its not a issue where the screen is being turned off as the hard button shortcuts are all still lit below the screen. You are basically having to do a screen refresh. Power once to turn off the screen and then again to bring it up properly.

Once you do this everything on my initial brief overview seems fine. I like the new boot animation much better. Very nice.


Update:

Tinkered with it some. It boots normally without the blank screen if its unplugged. When plugged into the PC it has the blank screen issue. I will try it with just going to a power recpticle

Chevy, can you just post the bootanimation? Don't wanna go though the whole setup again. I can just push it myself through Root Explorer.

extract it from the update.zip and move it to /system/media (check original permissions with root explorer first though)

i found a couple more build.prop dalvik vm tweaks if you want to try them to see if they improve performance and include them in the next release...
ro.dalvik.vm.checkjni=0
ro.dalvik.vm.deadlock-predict=off

I will try them out, as well as a couple other users. I will also try them on my Droid 3, now that I can use it on my Verizon plan again. :-D

I thought about rezound, I am probably going Bionic unless there is a good sale, It's getting ICS, it has almost fully working ports, and it has enough performance i'd be fine with finding a rom that runs well and keeping stock on the safe partition. But i'd definitely get the rezound if verizon has a sale. It's sad that even Launchers use up so much memory on the D1 these days.

Rezound is $50 at Verizon through the 9th... im gonna grab one pretty soon myself!

Just loaded up the latest RC3... so far seems a tad snappier than the first RC. Granted its only been a few minutes

and my decision as to get the gnex or rezound gets even harder.......why, WHY cant the gnex price go down any at all??? I would think the razr and rezound would be more popular and less likely to get price drops... (most buyers dont know and dont care about being unlockable or even ICS other than it looks cool)
Oh well, i'll just stick with my original decision of the gnex...im going to order it right now

I went back and forth many times before I finally decided on the rezound, myself... read lots of threads comparing the two... just seems like the rezound has slightly better overall hardware. And, it can be modded without too much trouble. And, ICS is right around the corner!
