Yeah, it really was... With what time I have, I generally follow some of the dev forums on XDA, noticed your "It's Jelly Bean Time" post that drew me here. Gotta say I'm glad I came back. Great work!

Before I flash Gnex3.0, I was curios to know whether Google search works on it? I have v2.8 where it force closes, and wont allow me to type anything in the search box.

EDIT: google search does not work even on 3.0 so flashed AOKP (btw aokp-jb milestone1 build is awesome)

Well, the typical question that is asked of people in your position is did you do a full data wipe when you flashed the new ROM?
Some people recommend executing the data wipe two or three times before flashing a different kind of ROM.
You can try the wipe/install again, perhaps.

im sure i did 2 times before flashing!
but i thought there is a bug or something as this happened with 2 droid 3 phones!!
i really need support as im switched to the oem which looks like windows 98!
rather than stucking with transferring sms from my old n900 !! god damn it!

Ok, I installed the ICS SteelDroid 5.5 on my Milestone 3 (name of Droid 3 in Brazil).

Issues I found :

Keyboard light does not work - IMO not important.

Everytime I tried to call someone I received the message "Android.Phone stopped working" - BIG ISSUE - Fixed installing Dialer Ex then unninstalling.

The Signal bar it's stuck at 2 bars - IMO small issue.

The keyboard map is 100%, other than this the Rom is running smoothly.

Thanks for the great work, I was really hoping to use ICS on my Milestone/Droid 3.

I just recently got into rooting, I found this and so far it seems to be working just fine on my Motorola Droid 1! I'm using the Themed version!

I just learned how to do this a short while ago as well. Makes me so mad that I just got into this! I can't wait for 10.9 for the Droid 1! I have tried many roms since I learned about all this and Steel Droid is by far my favorite! Thanks for keeping it alive for us Droid 1 die hards!

ok so installed SD3_5500 on my Droid 3 and all went well, took some learning curves, great job by the way. Three issues have arisin: 1) Blutooth has become scratchy and staticy, but not right away took about two days for this issue to happen, I am VERY Blutooth dependant I have the Jawbone Icon and have had ZERO issues with this device. 2) If I turn off the jawbone but blutooth is enabled on the phone, I cant hear anybody and they cant hear me? 3) On occasion when I answer a phone call, the screen stays black and there is no audio? Oh the contacts were a nightmare to straighten out, it wouldn't read my backed up contacts from the SD card, once I worked around that I HAD to install a contact manager to fix duplicates and multi select to delete, no biggy just thought you might want to know. Anyways great job and thanx for your hard work any input would be appreciated.

I was running SD 10.8 on my OG Droid when I decided to SBF back to stock and then reinstall SD 10.8. Since I did that, the Wifi Tether no longer works -- the app says it is tethering but the phone is not actually broadcasting.

Any ideas?

You might double check the file you're using to return to stock? Might be corrupt.

edit - or maybe you lost root?
