How to set default app to open files ?

where do i find the setting to set an app to always open with a specific app ?

Typically you would need to select the app to open something with after selecting the file, at which point you can set it as the default. Have you already set one and need to change it or are you just not getting the option.

OK that's what I was thinking it may be. Anyway, go into Settings > Apps > and depending on whether the one you set originally was a downloaded app or one that came on the device, you go to the appropriate section of apps. Select the app, scroll down and you should see an option to "clear defaults" or something along those lines, select it, and then you should be free to set the new one next time you select to open a file.
