How will the battery be replaced if it becomes necessary?

How will the battery be replaced if it becomes necessary? How will they get this thing open and why did they build it with a hidden battery? Why didn't they build it so you could replace the battery yourself? Is it because they did not want to make a sliding battery door that could accidentally fall off and get lost or that it would make the device look less appealing with a battery door...?

Maybe they don't expect you to have it long enough to need a new battery. After all they're already working on the Tab 2, so they probably don't plan on supporting the original tab owners much longer.

That sounds sort of scary. It's like we'll sell you one, but we won't offer any parts since we'll be building a new one in a few months.

The battery will last at least a year. By then you'll want to pitch that thing.

Perhaps what was said about the design of the newer Apple MacBook Pro is what applies here. The MacBook Pros were redesigned to eliminate the user replaceable battery because it not only saves room but it makes for a thinner case and battery.
