I bought it that I can use it with Skype and other internet applications. I expected it will be more open platform, same like laptop computer. Well, it does not do it. Suddenly I found that I have in my hands $600.00 flat, expensive product, worth of …..well ….. you choose words. Going back to store with words “Thank You, Keep it.” Samsung should stay with manufacturing Microwaves and go as far as possible from this kind of technology.
Totally understand how you feel I'm waiting on the Motorola Tablet. It seems like it'll offer a very different experience than what we see on the Galaxy Tab and Android smartphones.
You do realize you are an early adopter if you bought the galaxy tab. It has only been out a month, and android is very immature for tablets. I love my galaxy tab, but I understood the restrictions when I bought it.
To me, tablets like the Samsung are just big Android phones without the phone. Personally, Idk much about the MOTO tab. I am waiting to get my hands on the Notion Ink Adam.

Honestly dude, sounds like you didnt do your homework before buying it. You thought it would be like a laptop....well no, its a tablet. This is exactly why there is a catagory called "tablets", because they are not like laptops. They are meant to be more ultra portable...but with that you are going to have alot more limitations.
So disappointed you joined a forum (and probably several others) just to voice your anger!
Out of curiosity, are you going to be able to root and rom android tablets like we do the phones. I have been eyeing the ipad, mainly because of how far ahead apple is on their recording software, I am a musician, and the ease of recording anyware excites me. However, the tech guy in me loves toying with the android devices. Just wondering. Sorry it is off topic but at last I am not angry! Lol

Got my wife a Nook Color and rooted it today. I now have the Market, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar and a ton of other Android apps on it. Crush the Castle and Angry Birds are great on it. It's fast, no lag and a great little device.
It's very, very safe to root as B&N built in a function that will totally reload the original apps and OS if it fails to fully boot 8 times in a row. So to unroot it all you have to do is to delete data and then manually interrupt the boot cycle over and over and it will put itself back to "out of the box" condition. Sure wish the phone manufacturers would build that feature into our phones.
CAN YOU TURN OFF CAPSLOCK,YES! I think you should stick to operating microwaves...who invests $600+ with out a little research? ! Its android...not chrome/osx/windows...you have the same market as the handsets. This is in no way a replacement for a laptop. You wouldn't buy an ipad and freak out because you cant make a video call!? Learn what a tablet is before you drop the money on one. This ones kind of on you.
I posted this over at XDA and after reading this rant, decided to put it up over here also. It's just my 2 cents.
This is a simple but direct commentary on the usefulness of the Verizon Galaxy Tab.
I have owned most of the Verizon based smartphones and I am an avid Apple user. That means I have went through all of the Windows Mobile versions, Iphone 3G, every one of the Verizon Android phones and stood in line for the 32 gb iPad on day 1.
My family and I travel a great deal via auto for recreation - I mean a lot!! I thought the iPad would be exactly what I wanted for use for staying in touch on the road. I was right about my thoughts but wrong about Apple's approach - I own an Imac and MacBook so I should have known better but didn't. Apple doesn't care what I want, just what Apple wants. Don't get me wrong, I really like my Imac and MacBook BUT an iPad tethered through my Android Verizon phone simply ain't going to get there from here.
On to the straight forward.
Thanks to dev's (that I try to support via donations) the Verizon Tab is what I wanted to iPad to be - a useful traveling companion.
1. Great screen. I thought 7" was going to be small. You forget it very quickly after you start using it. The Samsung screen is very viewable from all angles - try looking at a Viewsonic from anywhere other than straight on, No contest. The iPad wins size and a little bit on viewability - but not by much. The Tab is very clear and bright.
2. Usefulness as a wireless connection. No contest. Verizon Tab is clear winner. Use the 1 GB plan when away from wifi and you have a full time connected handheld computer capable of video chat. Yes Video Chat, see the threads with Clear Sea - wow. Effortless and I am sure we will soon have an unrestricted, downloadable apk fairly soon.
3. A realtime, real GPS via Verizon and Google Maps. This is a king daddy app. My wife struggles with using my Android phone based maps. She really gets the Google Maps/Places. Using the Verizon on line stuff. Incredible.
I initially was unwhelmed with the Tab, bought one on line thru ebay for $500 and hooked up with a month to month and bingo bongo binge!!!
This is a nice direction for Tablets to take - very useful!!
