I'm still weighing between the SII & the Bionic as my new phone once my upgrade comes around next month. 4G is mighty impressive, but I haven't seen Motorola bring out a solid phone since my D1.

Here's the answer to your deciding factor, looks like the SG2 will indeed be rocking 4G:

*update* and just like that the statement has been corrected...

I would greatly prefer 4G but with my thunderbolt I have it turned off most of the time anyway.
Still I would like the option of 4G.

Anyone that buys a new Verizon phone today that's not 4G capable is foolish. Even if your area doesn't have 4G now, in the 2 years you will have your "new" 3G phone there is a good chance that it will.
And what about when you travel? all major cities will have it and so will all the airports.
If the SII doesn't have 4G no way in hell will I buy it, I don't care what the screen looks like etc. And in the Bionic turns out to be a dog I can wait till a better 4G phone comes out.

I couldn't agree with you less.
What if someone wants there battery to actually last?
What if someone doesn't want these 1st gen LTE radios?
What if someone has wifi around them most of the day?
What if someone doesn't want to pay the much higher prices for the phones?
To add to that...
What if someone simply prefers a phone that isn't 4g?
I decided I needed a 4g phone last week when I upgraded. I've never been a fan of htc phones so I bought the DROID charge. After spending a day with it, I decided I would be happier having a slow old DROID 3. So what if it takes me 5 minutes to pay my gas bill and you can do it in 2 minutes.
