Note II or not to Note II

I bought a HTC Droid DNA two weeks ago for $149 over the Note II because it was still $249. Now the price has been lowered to $199 so I'm seriously thinking of exchanging the DNA for the Note II. I've read/watched all kinds of reviews & comparisons most of which say either the Note II is a little better or to choose the Note II if you want a phablet & the DNA for a large smartphone. I admit the screen on the DNA is very very nice. It's my first HTC and have had no problem with Sense 4+. Your thoughts are appreciated.

A lot of the difference will be personal preference, but one fact is that the Note 2 blows the DNA (and a lot of regular smartphones) out of the water when it comes to battery life. The camera is also probably a bit better in most scenarios.

Come on over to the N2...you will find out what we already know here.. This phone is a beast... Does everything right.. You want stock it's rocks.. You want custom ROMS? They are out and plenty of development... You want stock with extra options rooted.. It's on... Either way I wish you luck.. I held the DNA and it's a nice phone.. Screen pops out but I'm so happy with this one..

Looks like Radioshack & Target just helped seal the deal on the keeping the DNA. I'll be returning to BB to get another $50 off the $149 I paid as they have it for $99 on an upgrade & they're 2 of the stores BB will price match.

Note 2 does have a Micro SD slot, and the limit is not 32GB, but 64GB. Also, it has a removable battery, so easy to swap if you don't want to charge. The DNA doesn't have either of these. Those were my deciding factors. Plus, HTC is notorious for have phones with bad battery life. And i found that I like TouchWiz UI more than Sense UI (WAY more than MotoBlur lol). All in all it was a win-win for me.

Bonus: It matches my Note 10.1 and my Samsung HDTV lol

I got a galaxy S3 a few days ago...I HATE the battery life but don't mind the phone (I've always had motorolas)...I'm sure I'm going to return the S3 and am also considering a Note2...would love to hear more feedback on the Note2

If you love the S3 but hate the battery life, and if you're ok with the size increase, then I guarantee you'll love the Note 2. It's like a bigger, better, more souped up S3.

I, personally, couldn't get past the size as a daily driver (still have the S3), but absolutely loved everything else about it. One other idiosyncrasy... the Exynos chips (Note 2) don't allow simultaneous voice and data over 3G, the Qualcomm chips do (S3, Razr HD line, S4 I'm assuming, etc.). If you get LTE or wifi 99% of the time this won't matter. Heck it might not matter to you anyway. But I've always appreciated the opportunity to do SVDO over 3G when needed.

The GN2 has the removable battery which is now a deal breaker for me. I am a heavy phone and data user. I have 3 batteries and a wall charger. I always have a fully charged battery in my pocket, and I rotate the batteries daily. My GN2 has never been plugged in. I also think that powering off once or twice a day keeps the GN2's systems at peak performance. I can't say enough good things about the GN2.
