I just switched from iphone a few days ago and have questions. How does the join contact thing work? I keep thinking I get it then I look and both contacts still show up

Are you attempting it thru contacts - menu key (on bottom left) - join contact - select who you want to join with - wait for confirmation, contacts are joined (will flash towards the bottom of the screen)....

Yea. I see where it says contacts joined then I go back into contacts and both will still be there

Are you backing out of the contact app & then going back in and still seeing it?

Yea. I ended up setting it up to only view my phone contacts

Not to jump into an active conversation but you can remove the phone contacts now. If you've successfully merged them you'll find all of your contacts on Google where they will remain no matter what device you're using.
