Talked to some Verizon reps today about what "launch" means.
You: I need to upgrade my phone. Samsung issued a press release saying they're launching the Galaxy Note 2 in the US on Oct 24th. Does launch mean you'll have it in your stores?
Whitney M.: I am not sure if it will be in the stores that day. The launch just means it will start selling that day but I am not sure about selling the Verizon stores on that day.
You: So I'd be able to go onto Verizon's website and order it?
You: If it's out in the stores that is...
Whitney M.: Yes, you would be able to see it on the website if it is out in stores.
You: So "launch" is the same as "release into stores"? I wasn't sure about that wording.
You: Do you know if Verizon will do a preorder or anything?
Whitney M.: That I am unsure of. I have not heard about a preorder but we usually find about about a week or a couple of days before.

Britney: I'd be happy to assist you.
Britney: There has not been any information released at this time.
You: In terms of phones in general, do you know what "launch" means?
Britney: It will be released.
You: Does release mean you can start buying online or in stores?
Britney: Yes.

Gerald: Launch means when it will be released at the store
Gerald: and online
You: So if the launch is 24th like Samsung says, I could possibly buy it that day?
Gerald: thats correct
In summary, "launch" seems to mean the same thing as "release" which means able to go buy online or in stores. However, I'm not sure if Samsung "launching" on the 24th means the same thing as Verizon "launching" on the 24th.
Sorry, my patience is wearing thin...
Nothing to do but hang in there!!

You can say that again Brother!!!
Hopefully VZ does'nt hold it a while longer after the launch to add excessive bloatware.
Fingers crossed~!!

Stop hoping, this is an anticipated flagship device so you know VZW is about to load it up with as much bloat as they can get away with. The more on board memory the more bloat. And the bigger the phone the more space on the home screen to put VZW apps. I would not be surprised to see all 5.5 inches loaded with VZW bloat alone. I bet they are making apps as we speak trying to get it finished in time to put it on the note. Heck Verizon will probably have their own vzw note app and instead of Samsung s pen they gonna have the Verizon v pen with v pen apps.
