    Rooting.....and? About virus protection

    Well, seems no one on entire forum can help me root my 2.2.2 schi500, guess ill just stick to stock. Now, can anyone tell me if an anti virus app is at all necessary?

    No anti virus is necessary as long as you are careful regarding downloading apps. Always read reviews and make sure the developer has been around a while if there aren't many reviews.

    Any ideas about the rooting thing? I'm starting to think just not for my phone. Guess I can live with stock and just try to tweak best I can.

    What exactly do you not understand about rooting your phone? I rooted mine, and have a custom ROM on it, and like it much better now.
