Re-Rooting??

Hello all!
First time thread poster here. I took over a Droid Charge that has been previously rooted. The phone functions fine except that the original SD card is not in it and a bunch of the apps are "ghost" apps and grayed out with a little "SD" in the corner of the icon (one example being the Play Store app). I have tried doing a hard reset to get things to factory settings and they are still grayed out. Does anyone know what I have to do to get this completely wiped without the original SD card? Or am I s.o.l.? Thanks in advance for the input!
