Does ota update factory reset the phone?

So I just woke up and my phone is telling me it wants to update-- ans frankly, I want it to update, too.

Question is, if i update, will I have to redowbload all my apps? I have Grimes which isn't on the market anymore, and don't want to lose it. Also, does the SD card her wiped? Will i have to wait for a root method to be developed if I go with the update, or will the same method for froyo work?

This update will not wipe anything. I did the update yesterday morning and all my apps/pics/music ect. Were all still on after installing. But me being sooo OCD; I factory reset anyway just to make sure all was well after downloading and installing. But I hope this helps, bite the bullet and take the update. You won't regret it. And everything you have will still be there. Garunteed. I know first hand.

Yes that may be true...haven't really checked out their pre-loadee apps. (bloatware) but the OP was refering to his 3rd party apps. Which DO stay in place aftr the updatr is installed. I was wondering the same yesterday cuz I didn't want my apps to stay and hopefully do its own FR but it didnt and I had my apps still. That's why I proceeded with the FR after cuz I didn't want my 3rd party apps still. But that was just my pickyness. Glad you like it so far OP. And no problem.
