freezing and email issue

My gf's charge seems to be having issues. I searched and didn't find any info matching. She says her screen will freeze and she has to pull the battery to reboot the phone, and her emails won't come through right away. She had to manually request for the emails to be retrieved. The phone is stock, so no root or different ROM.
