My computer was able to read my Charge and was able to view and modify files on the sd card. @ month ago the phone would not be recognized by computer and now I get a blank window. everytime the phone is connected to computer it gives me an option for media player or mass storage, but nothing on computer. I installed the samsung and verizon software several time and that did not help either. :angry:
It sounds like the drivers you need are either incorrect or not installing. I would recommend a battery pull or factory reset, but before you do that, contact your service provider about it, sometimes they have a simple effective solution or answer for the problem. To go a little deeper, google the issue, and/or check out xda developers for a solution. Hope this helps.
Are you selecting mass storage option on the phone?

Same troubles, tried USB settings "media player" no luck, "mass storage" no luck, "ask on connection" no luck. Re-installed drivers from the Samsung support site, restarted both computer and phone. Battery pull on the phone.... Any ideas?
For OP go to this link and follow the instructions for downloading and installing the drivers. Hope it fixes your problem.

I had issues with this when I first got my phone. I was able to get it recognized after I took a picture and had something on the memory card. Prior to that the computer would not recognize it at all. But it sounds like you had it working before so may not have had an empty card on yours.
will wait for the gingerbread update to see it that makes any better
