About LinkBacksWell here I am in my college town, and guess what Verizon doesn't have 3G here @ WVU. 4G coverage is only a 20 min drive north into PA but yet were stuck with 1x. My question is whether or not I can turn off 4G so it will stop searching for it and eating my battery.

11-02-2011 09:39 PMYes go to settings wireless networks into mobile networks then network mode and select cdma only ...my husband has a droid charge I have a thunderbolt it should be the same or about the same in the settings

11-02-2011 11:22 PMI thought I had it bad at Bloomsburg with crappy 3g. Yeah just go change it from lte/cdma to cdma only. It'll help

Post #6 in this thread tells give you a way to turn off everything except 1X. Because with the phone on CDMA it is going to search for 3G constantly too.

11-03-2011 07:29 AMWell since im on the outer edge of a 4G area I would rather it not be searching for 4G and just live with it searching for 3G, ohh well. Verizon customer service told me that my area would be getting 4G before it would be getting 3G....that sound right to anyone?
